N1 software package: is the abbreviation of CloudFabric IDN One Software package. This software package contains licenses for the functions of components such as CloudEngine switches and Agile Controller-DCN. That is, it contains permanent licenses and subscription and support (SnS) annual fees. An N1 software package includes the N1 foundation function package, N1 advanced function package, and FabricInsight network intelligent basic analysis function package.
Permanent license + SnS annual fee: On the basis of the license sales, software patches, software upgrade (including new features in the target version), remote support, and other services are packaged into the SnS annual fee. The SnS annual fee uses the same pricing dimension as the corresponding license and customers periodically pay for the SnS annual fee as required. In this way, the long-term values of software products throughout the lifecycle are achieved. When Huawei sells a software product to a customer for the first time, the customer has to buy both the license and SnS services that are valid for a certain period of time. If the customer does not renew the SnS annual fee after the SnS annual fee expires, the customer can only use functions provided in the licenses purchased for the current version and cannot use the service functions covered in the SnS annual fee.
Purpose
Traditional license files are purchased based on function items and are permanently valid. The license files cannot be upgraded on the ESDP website. Therefore, customers need to purchase licenses for new controlled license functions. The overall purchase cost is high and the investment risk is uncontrollable.
An N1 software package is sold as a whole based on the solution scenario. Customers can select the validity period. Within the validity period of the annual fee, if the N1 software package has new function items, customers can upgrade the license file on the ESDP website to obtain a new N1 software package without purchasing it again. This reduces the overall purchase cost and saves the customer investment.
